3 Ghosts of Fear That Can Lead To Worry (2)
In the previous article, we discussed 3 ghosts of fear that lead to worry…so today; we will be looking at the remaining two!
- Fear of rejection: I have some friends that their worst fear is rejection. You would hear them say things like;
‘I’d rather die than have a girl turn me down’
‘I’d rather go hungry than face the shame of being rejected’
Sound funny right? But you would be surprised to hear what people will do just to avoid facing their fear of rejection.
Nobody likes embarrassment; I for one don’t like it…I see it as a blow to my self esteem, so this makes extra cautious in my relations with people
But the truth is no matter how cautious you are, you can’t avoid rejections or embarrassing situations…you just have to face it and deal with it.
- Fear of poverty: everyone desires to be rich, nobody wants to be poor. The only difference between the rich and the poor is in the action. So to an extent everybody have this fear. Now while some people see it as a motivation to be rich, others allow this fear to translate to worry.
So here it is- your 5 ghosts of fears! And I know we all can identify with some of this fears.
Worry is a state of the mind- this means it can be changed. We worry when we feel like we are in a helpless situation; so instead of worrying, I suggest we learn how to face and address our fears.
We will always have situations that will test our boundaries- welcome to life! but instead of worrying about things, we can chose to take the lessons from those situations and move on.
