5 attitudes that can actually make you very successful! (2)
Your attitude towards the future- your attitude towards the future should be that of hope. Indeed, what is life without hope? Hope is the substance that keeps us going, even when the dark. Like Helen Keller said ‘optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Your attitude towards the future should be filled with hope and expectation for something better. To even assume that life is perfectly tailored and predictable is to prepare yourself for a life of surprise and frustration. Hope is the only way to keep moving forward and stronger when life’s boat rocks us tro and fro. Don’t forget that 98% of success was built on past failures, every successful man had at some point encountered challenges and disappointment; a hope for a better tomorrow is the only thing that could have kept them going. So keep looking towards the future with hope…..
Your attitude towards your past- yesterday is gone, and gone forever…the question is: what should be your attitude towards your past???
‘I’ve shut the door on yesterday and thrown the key away. Tomorrow holds no fear for me, since I’ve found today’-Vivian Laramore
we must learn to look towards our past with forgiveness. So many have made mistakes they wished they could take back, so many have been wronged by those they loved…but you must learn to forgive. To be successful, you must learn to forgive yourself of the opportunities you might have lost, or mistakes you must have made. As an entrepreneur myself, I know the feeling of watching a huge business opportunity pass me by because I was not equipped with the knowledge for the business, I also know the feeling of beating myself up and wishing I knew better to grab the opportunity…this feeling sounds familiar to you? Successful people also struggle with such feelings, but for you to be a success, you must learn to forgive yourself and move on from the past- that includes the opportunities you might have lost in the past.
Just like John Mason said ‘your past is not your potential, so never build your future around it’…I personally do not believe in the phrase ‘too old to achieve’… no matter how long you think you might have wasted, it does not matter. There are so many great people who achieved their success ‘late’ in life. You are never too old or too young to achieve. The future contains more happiness than we can ever imagine. So we should learn to look at the past with appreciation and towards the future with expectation.
I really hope you make the decision to develop these attitudes, because they can change your life for the better.
