Don’t deny yourself the right to feel your emotions. You don’t always have to be brave and strong; it’s okay not to always be in control. You must not always be dainty Miss perfect. So many people put so much effort in maintaining a brave front while they die slowly inside. It is perfectly okay to feel depressed, sad, hurt or grief. Give voice to your emotions. Do you feel like screaming? Scream! Do you feel like cussing? Cuss! Do you feel like crying? Then cry! But feel you emotions. Bottling up your emotions and refusing to express them or feel them is sheer disaster. Like a time bomb, it will eventually explode but like an acid, it must have destroyed you on the inside. This is one of the major causes of broken relationships.

I was reading this novel where the couple lost their daughter and it took a big toll on them. They were never the same after that. The husband doesn’t know how to express his emotions because he was raised by parents that “did not feel”. For two years, he battled with his grief alone because he felt talking to someone about it will make him weak. He felt he needed to be strong and that entailed not feeling the grief that came with his loss. This, however, built a huge wall between him and the wife and slowly tore them apart. I personally still feel depressed sometimes.

Sometimes I am so proud of myself and other times I wish I were someone else. Sometimes I feel so confident about my looks and body and other times I feel so insecure and ugly. Guess what! These feelings are not alien to a particular set of people. EVERYBODY EXPERIENCES THESE MOMENTS. This is life! There are happy moments and there are sad moments. There are times we feel very low and times you feel super excited.

Sometimes we fail to understand these realities of life…

Light hearted and carefree people sometimes get depressed

Even the bravest of men do cry

Strong women do need love

Motivational speakers and experts sometimes need motivation

Comedians do not always laugh at their jokes

Therapists sometimes need to be listened to

Counselors sometimes need a shoulder

Stars and celebrities are not always happy with their lives

Our public identity is not always our private reality

That is why we all need love support. We all need to be loved. Let yourself feel your emotions because in so doing you find yourself able to deal with them and from rise from them. You can’t tackle a problem unless you acknowledge its existence first. never forget: you let yourself heal when you let yourself feel…
