Practical ways to replace your Fears with Faith
Faith is taking the leap, even when you cannot see the ground below.
Faith is arguably the most essential virtue in life. It is the essence of our Christian faith, and it is the essence of life. Life is full of uncertainty, and the worst to live is by calculations and reasoning. When you always try to reason out life and every day existence, you will get frustrated and depressed, and you would be giving room for fear to enter your heart. You can’t live life by calculation because life does not follow any one pattern. You need to live life with faith, because faith is trusting on a future you cannot see, but you know in your heart that is great.
Indeed, fear is the opposite of faith because
Why fear sees the worst in a situation, faith sees the best in that situation.
fear sees the end of a road, but faith sees the beginning of that road
fear sees the impossibility in your dreams, but faith sees the possibility in it
Why fear is quick to give excuses as to why it won’t work, faith is quick to look for reasons why it would work
But fear and faith don’t just spring up. They are rooted in certain emotions and actions. This means that they can replace, conquered and suppressed. And I will give you some important steps that will help you replace your fears with faith.
It is time to change your thoughts! – I believe that our world is a reflection of our thoughts. Our thoughts determine the kind life we will live. Negative thoughts produce negative emotions, and positive thoughts produce positive emotions. If you are someone who lives in fear, check your thought life; it is almost certain that your thoughts are predominately negative. To replace your fears with faith, the first thing you must do is to change your thoughts!
So instead of thinking –I can never be good enough
Think-I am good enough
Instead of thinking- this is impossible
Think -this is possible!
Your thoughts shape your life; so train your thoughts on the good things of life.
Whatever is lovely, whatever is pure, whatever is pure, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praise worthy; think about such things- Philippians 4:23
Charge up your enthusiasm! How do you see life? What is your life metaphor? Whatever theory you have of life will determine the kind of emotions you will experience on daily basis. If you see life as a competition, I bet you that the emotions you will experience on daily basis would be fear, anxiety, worry, and confusion… live life with enthusiasm, ease, and excitement. Be grateful for the things you see and have. Instead of seeing life as a competition, see life as an adventure, it will help you dwell more on positive thoughts and thus producing positive emotions in you.
Finally, form a relationship with God; he will help you with the strength you need to face your fears, and the grace to keep believing in your dreams despite all odds.
Let’s hear your story; have you ever successfully overcome any fear you once had? How did you conquer those fears?
